Agricultural mechanization is the progressive shift from manual labor and animal traction to motorized, digital, and automated farming. It encompasses the use of machines for all stages of farming, from land preparation and planting to harvesting, processing, and storage, significantly boosting productivity.

To foster sustainable mechanization in Nigeria, the government actively operates initiatives through bodies like the National Centre For Agricultural Mechanization (NCAM), which is mandated to design adaptive, need-based technologies specifically suited for local farming conditions
